Long Valley Creek (2008)

Long Valley Creek Restoration Project, a tributary to the Middle Fork of the Feather River, was completed in October 2008. Located near Sloat, CA the project consisted of restoring 107 acres of meadow floodplain, including 9,000 feet of Long Valley Creek and 2,000 feet of Little Long Valley Creek.  Project activities include replacing the gullied Long Valley Creek & Little Long Valley Creek with 34 plugs and 30 ponds, and controlling bank erosion with vegetative planting. The project was funded by SWRCB Proposition 40 Non-point Source Pollution funds provided for a complex of projects within the Upper Middle Fork Feather River watershed. The project budget was $235,000. Project partners included Calif. Department of Water Resources and Natural Resource Conservation service, along with help from volunteers.
